The Sun Will Rise Again

When hope descended underground
When fear ruled not men
My silent heart whispered to me
The sun will rise again

When pain and hatred ruled the world
When all was drowned in sorrow
When faith was lost and hearts were crossed
To never see the morrow

When winds were wild with death and sin
The devil dancing near
My heart grew black my soul grew cold
Nothing remained to fear

When evil crept upon my chest
And whispered in my ear
The End shall be brought down by me
And the End is near

My restless heart shrivelled in shame
My soul it filled with pain
And that was when it said to me
The sun will rise again

And in a moment suddenly
The blackening, it froze
The icy clay it broke away
Fell, as the fire rose

It rose up in my throat, my chest
Made my black blood boil
The creature that stood once as me
It fell into the soil

Nought remained now but the flame
That filled me up with light
I looked above and I saw love
Tearing away the night

When all that act and kill and sin
Are devils and not men
Look not at night, embrace the light
The sun will rise again.
